Changelog

What changed in each version of the extension.

0.2.0 October 2026

New

  • AI Assistant. Describe a strategy in plain words, paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok, and paste the reply back. The editor checks the graph, fixes small slips, and describes in plain words what the strategy will do before you load it. Also modifies an existing graph (with a preview of every change) or explains it. No API key needed.
  • Try Pro for free: the Free plan includes 5 generations a month of strategies that use Pro nodes.
  • Higher Timeframe (Pro): compute any indicator on a higher timeframe, e.g. a 4H EMA 200 trend filter on a 15m chart. It always uses the last completed higher-timeframe bar, so there is no lookahead and no repainting.
  • Position State (Pro): in long / in short, bars in the trade and open profit %, for time-based exits and more.
  • Rising / Falling (Pro): true when a series has risen or fallen for N bars.
  • Value N Bars Ago: a series' value N bars ago and the change since, e.g. "RSI is rising".
  • Crossover against a fixed level, e.g. RSI crossing above 30, without extra nodes.
  • Exit Signal for one side: close only longs or only shorts.
  • The plain-language reading of a strategy, with warnings about likely mistakes, is also on the AI Assistant's Explain tab.

Changed

  • Take-Profit with Trailing Stop: when both are set, Take-Profit is now the level where trailing switches on, instead of a separate limit order that made the trailing stop rarely matter. Strategies saved with both will exit differently.
  • Dashboard (Pro): a panel on the chart with every entry condition marked ✓ or ✗ on the latest bar, so you can see why the strategy did or didn't enter, plus the open position with its P/L, and the stop-loss, take-profit and trailing-activation lines drawn while a trade is open.
  • Value scales: the editor knows that a price is always above 0, RSI lives between 0 and 100, Williams %R between −100 and 0, and so on. A condition that can never or always be true (EMA > 0, RSI > 150) or that compares different scales (RSI against a price) is marked while you build.
  • Live checks while you build. A node that breaks one of TradingView's rules is outlined in red the moment it happens (with what to fix in its properties), and a likely logic mistake in amber. The toolbar shows "Ready", "to check" or "to fix"; click it for the list. A wire that can't connect now says why.
  • File menu: New, templates, Save, Import, Export and your saved graphs moved under File, so the toolbar fits on a laptop screen. Ctrl+S saves.
  • New strategy starts from a skeleton instead of an empty canvas: Price Source, a Long Signal already wired to a Risk Config (so the stop-loss is there from the start) and Strategy Settings. The toolbar shows the next step. "Blank canvas" is still in the File menu.
  • An indicator you add (EMA, RSI, MACD…) is wired to the Price Source by itself; if there is none, one is added next to it. Move the wire to compute it on something else, e.g. an EMA of RSI.
  • Import, Signal Delay and the RSI Oversold Bounce template are now free.
  • A rare request to rate the extension, shown as a small bar after a few generations and easy to turn off.
  • A one-time tip on pinning the extension to the toolbar, shown only if it isn't pinned.
  • The license window links to the customer portal, where existing subscribers find their key.
  • After an uninstall, Chrome opens a short optional page asking why. Answers are anonymous.

Fixed

  • Oscillators (RSI, Stochastic, MACD and others) shown on the chart get their own pane instead of flattening the candles. If indicators land in the wrong pane after pasting new code over an old script, remove the strategy from the chart and add it again.
  • Take-profit, stop-loss and trailing now work on the bar a trade opens on. Before, they only took effect from the next bar, so a stop hit on the entry bar was missing from the backtest. Backtests of existing strategies can change after regenerating.
  • Strategies with the CCI or MFI node failed to compile in TradingView (including some Randomizer results). Fixed.
  • VWAP with Period 0 is now the standard VWAP that restarts every session, as on TradingView. Before, it was a running total from the first bar on the chart, so its value depended on how much history your TradingView plan loads.
  • On a symbol without volume data (most indices), strategies with VWAP, Volume Ratio, OBV or MFI now stop with a clear message instead of silently never trading.
  • A backslash or a line break in a label, the strategy name or a custom alert message (e.g. multi-line JSON from a bot's docs) no longer breaks the script.
  • Randomizer: the VWAP and ATR ideas now work on any market and timeframe (they relied on moves or thresholds that some markets never reach), a session filter is shown in the strategy name, and SuperTrend flips no longer get a false "check this is intended" warning.
  • Ichimoku's cloud_top / cloud_bottom were one bar behind TradingView's own Ichimoku; they now match it.
  • Strategy Settings: the backtest dates are empty by default, picked from a calendar, and either one may stay empty: no start date means from the first bar, no end date means up to the latest one. Before, a preset end date of 2026-12-31 would have quietly stopped a strategy from trading after that day. Dates outside the history loaded on the chart now stop the script with a message saying so, instead of an empty report.
  • When the long and the short condition are both true on the same bar, neither side enters. Before, TradingView opened the long and reversed it into the short at once, and a bot got "buy" and "sell" together.
  • Two signals with the same label (e.g. two "Long") no longer share one order: the second becomes "Long 2" with its own take-profit and stop-loss.
  • ATR stops now use the ATR of the bar the trade was signalled on for the whole trade. Before, they followed the live ATR, so a stop could drift away from price when volatility rose.
  • Leverage in Strategy Settings now sets the matching margin (e.g. 5% at 20x), and the properties panel shows what the settings mean in money: the size of each entry, the margin and how far away liquidation is. Before, TradingView treated the bigger position as unaffordable and cut it with simulated margin calls, so leveraged backtests were wrong.
  • A Math node with the constant 0 (e.g. max(x, 0)) used 1 instead, and a Background Color with transparency 0 used 90.
  • A Script Input whose default was outside its own min/max no longer breaks compilation.
  • The arrows on a node's number field now change a period by 1. Before, they changed it by 0.1, and a period like 21.1 made TradingView reject the script. Whole-number fields also show without decimals.
  • Dialogs no longer close when a text selection ends outside them.
  • Without internet, generating a script with Pro nodes no longer pauses for about 15 seconds while the license check times out.

For webhook bots

Scripts already on TradingView don't change by themselves: regenerate your strategies and recreate their alerts to get these fixes. When creating the alert, choose "alert() function calls only".
  • Alert messages now carry real values: before, the ticker and price arrived as the literal text {{ticker}} and {{close}}, and the default message was not valid JSON.
  • New fields qty and amount follow the Order size in the strategy's TradingView settings; exit alerts include the closed position's qty.
  • With trailing on, tp is null and the new trail_activation field carries the level.
  • Custom message templates can use the usual TradingView names ({{ticker}}, {{close}}, {{time}}, {{strategy.order.action}}…), which are now filled in.
  • Entry alerts no longer fire again while a position is already open, and exit alerts no longer fire while flat, so a bot can't double a position the backtest never had.
